Objectives
- Examine the specific conditions requiring special positioning devices and interventions to prevent damage to specific body systems during surgery.
- Illustrate specific body structures of the nervous, vascular, and integumentary systems that are at risk when the patient is positioned in one of the seven basic surgical postures.
- Prioritize nursing interventions that help prevent injuries when positioning a patient for surgery.
