My responsibilities include but are not limited to orientation of new hires, instructor for RN intern program, inservice/education coordinator for staff, neurosurgical team leader, and resource person for clinical issues.

Experience:

I have authored several computer modules for our system's educational needs. These allow yearly competency evaluation of the staff.

I co-authored a recent article in the 2007 October AORN journal entitled Medication Safety - Just a Label Away.

I presently am an instructor for our system RN intern program. I have taught classes such as wound closure, surgical instrumentation, and surgical environment.

I lecture each year at the local community college to first year nursing students on the role of the perioperative nurse.

I have coordinated numerous continuing education programs which required writing objectives, quizzes, and course evaluations.
