Evanston Hospital is part of the Evanston Northwestern Healthcare System and is ranked as a top 100 hospital and a top 15 teaching hospital. Mr. Duffy is responsible for the clinical and fiscal performance of the inpatient nursing units, the outpatient clinics and the corporate emergency departments. In addition to his role as Vice President, Mr. Duffy has served as the National President of the Association of periOperative registered Nurses (AORN) and is recognized for his knowledge in health law.

Experience:

Mr. Duffy is a recognized expert on legal issues facing the nursing profession. He received his Masters of Jurisprudence in Health Law from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law where he was the first Masters in Health Law student to receive an Academic Achievement Award from the law school for his work in Bioethics and the Law.

Mr. Duffy has published numerous articles in publications as the AORN Journal, Point of View Magazine, and Today's Surgical Nurse as well as contributing two chapters on the topic of Legal Issues for Perioperative Services.

Additionally, Mr. Duffy has presented over 100 seminars on legal issues at regional, national and international meetings.

Mr. Duffy has served as an expert witness on multiple cases involving the question of nursing malpractice.
